Digital Patient Charts:
A digital patient chart is a complete record of a patient’s key clinical data and medical history, such as vital signs, diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, progress notes, problems, allergies, radiographs (x-rays), and laboratory cases. All your information will be on a computer that only authorized users can access.
An intraoral camera is a tool in dentistry that not many dentist have. It is used to examine your mouth as detailed as possible. The instrument looks like an oversized pen, but is actually a camera that takes close up, high-resolution images of the mouth and teeth. Most of the time it is hard for patients to fully understand and see the condition of their teeth in the same way the dentist does. With these images, you will see for yourself exactly what is happening in your mouth.
Some of the advantages of using an intraoral camera are that we can take a picture of the inside of your mouth to have a bigger and better look at your mouth, and it really helps to track any changes happening in your mouth over time. These images are also stored on your digital chart and serve to observe and document the progress of your dental treatment.
Digital Dental X-Rays (radiographs):
A digital dental X-Ray is a quick, painless procedure that gives us images of the structures inside your mouth such as the teeth and bones. This helps us identify problems with the teeth, mouth, and jaw. X-rays can show cavities, hidden dental structures (such as wisdom teeth), and bone loss that cannot be seen during a visual examination.
